In Principio Erat Verbum.
In the beginning was the Word.

This is engraved on the entrance gate into St. Mary’s College in St. Andrews University, Scotland. When we walked through that gate years ago, it just reminded us of why we were there in the first place. It was to continue learning to encounter with this Word, this Word who had become flesh, and let this Word define us—whether through academic pursuit or quotidian mysteries.

So when I was asked to give a title to this blog, the reading and reflecting of His Word just came to mind, especially considering the fact that this blog is mainly to deposit the English version of the Chinese articles I am privileged to get to write for the church bulletin. As for the inception of this blog, well, English is not my mother tongue and I don’t think in English, but a comment by certain young friend about trying to understand the Chinese articles as best he can sparked the thought of maybe I should also try writing them in English as well…hopefully it will be of help to my fellow churchmates who are younger and prefer reading in English.

In the end, this is a very personal project, responding to God’s call to minister. So I shall try my best, and may God be pleased with it.
